Company Profile:

Development and production of printed materials (from flyers to multi-page hardcover editions) for commercial companies, public organizations, and private clients.


Task:

Set up automated layout for trade catalogs in Adobe InDesign.


Description:

A file is generated in InDesign using Data Merge, where each product is displayed as a separate block (position). However, according to catalog page layout requirements, each position must contain two products. Currently, this merging process is done manually.


Additionally, product replacements may occur over time—either individual items or all at once. Replacement information is received via email in separate messages, and an updated summary is sent in XLSX format.


Tasks:

1 – Automate the merging of two products into a single position;

2 – Anable automatic product/name/price updates in the layout when changes are made in the Excel table;

3 – Ensure that each position dynamically assigns properties of two products based on their codes (the product code is also used for naming product images).

Important! This process also requires the automation of the Excel tables.
