About The Position

This role demands a skilled PHP specialist capable of navigating complex systems with limited documentation. 

You'll be responsible for supporting and developing our self-descriptive business management platform that orchestrates our entire production and distribution operations. 

Your technical proficiency with Laravel, containerization, and database administration will prove essential as we expand our market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and enhance our core business platform built on Laravel framework, resolving technical challenges with minimal documentation support.

- Implement new functionality based on evolving business requirements and stakeholder feedback.

- Optimize application performance across our distributed infrastructure for maximum efficiency.

- Migrate the existing system from Laravel 6.0 to more current versions (Laravel 9.x/10.x).

- Execute potential database transition from MySQL to PostgreSQL with minimal disruption.

- Configure and maintain Docker containers with possible Kubernetes implementation for scaling.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

- Ensure high availability and reliability of business-critical systems through proactive monitoring.

- Participate in code reviews and implement industry best practices for PHP development.

- Refactor legacy code components to improve maintainability and overall system performance.

Required Skills:

- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience with PHP development in production environments.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Laravel framework (versions 5.5+ through current 10.x).

- Practical experience with Git version control systems and branching strategies.

- Working knowledge of Docker containerization and container orchestration principles.

- Familiarity with Ubuntu/Linux server environments and command-line operations.

- Expertise in MySQL database design, optimization, and management techniques.

- Understanding of PostgreSQL database systems for potential migration scenarios.

- Ability to work effectively with minimal documentation and reverse-engineer existing systems.

- Problem-solving mindset with capacity for independent work and decision-making.

- Strong communication skills and professional English language proficiency.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with Laravel package development and third-party integrations.

- Knowledge of Kubernetes for advanced container orchestration and scaling.

- Familiarity with the specified Laravel packages (Entrust, Croppa, Laravel Workflow, etc.).

- Background in food industry or manufacturing software implementations.

- Prior work on database migration projects, particularly MySQL to PostgreSQL transitions.

Technical Environment:

- PHP 7.4+ (with roadmap to upgrade to PHP 8.1/8.2).

- Laravel Framework (currently 6.0, planned upgrade path).

- Docker containerization (K8S capability for scaling).

- Ubuntu Linux server infrastructure.

- MySQL database (with PostgreSQL migration potential).

- Git version control.

- Essential Laravel packages including:

 - Zizaco/Entrust and Acoustep/EntrustGUI for authorization management.

 - Bkwld/croppa and file upload utilities for media handling.

 - Spreadsheet manipulation libraries for data processing.
