Senior PHP Developer (Yii/Laravel) – Remote Web App & System Integration

A leading retail brand is seeking a Senior PHP Developer to join their remote team. You’ll be building, supporting, and enhancing internal web and mobile applications, while automating employee scheduling systems—using PHP, JavaScript (Angular/TypeScript), PowerShell. Key Responsibilities - Maintain and expand the internal transportation system, info kiosks, and mobile applications. - Develop and support enterprise-grade web apps using PHP (Yii/Laravel) and Angular. - Design and maintain backend integration services (SOAP, REST, Ajax). - Write and maintain automation scripts in PowerShell, VBS, and CMD. - Review and enhance legacy code—ensuring performance, readability, and maintainability. - Support databases (MySQL, MSSQL) and assist with deployment tasks. - Participate in regular code reviews and peer programming. Required Skills - 3+ years of experience in developing web-based applications. - Proficiency in PHP (OOP) with frameworks such as Yii and Laravel. - Working knowledge of JavaScript, particularly Angular and TypeScript. - Integration skills with SOAP, REST APIs, and Ajax. - Experience with Git for version control in collaborative environments. - Solid grounding in C# for cross-platform development tasks. - Database setup and maintenance with MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server. - Basic fluency in Unix-based systems and experience with OpenVZ virtualization. - Practical understanding of system services: LDAP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP, NGINX, Apache, and Rsync. - Capability to write automation scripts using PowerShell, VBS, and CMD. - Excellent written and verbal communication; able to simplify complex technical details for non-tech stakeholders. Nice to Have - Experience optimizing legacy systems. - Familiarity with enterprise retail or logistics platforms. - Exposure to DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines. - Comfort working across multi-disciplinary teams (Dev, Ops, Business).
