Our established financial technology organization seeks an experienced Senior Manual QA Engineer to strengthen our quality assurance processes for critical banking applications. As a key member of our distributed team, you will implement comprehensive testing strategies that ensure our financial solutions meet exacting standards of reliability, security, and performance. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute detailed test plans, cases, and checklists specifically tailored for banking software applications. - Conduct thorough manual testing of mobile applications across iOS (iOS 16+) and Android (12+) platforms, verifying consistent functionality and user experience across devices. - Perform comprehensive API testing utilizing Postman, SoapUI, and Swagger UI to validate RESTful and SOAP web services according to banking industry standards. - Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues using monitoring tools such as Charles Proxy or Fiddler to identify performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities. - Document defects with precision in Jira, including clear reproduction steps, expected outcomes, and relevant screenshots or logs. - Collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed development teams to clarify requirements and create comprehensive test documentation in Confluence. - Validate banking-specific functionalities including transaction processing, account management, security protocols, and regulatory compliance requirements. - Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure quality considerations are addressed throughout the development lifecycle. - Execute thorough regression testing to verify system stability following implementation of new features or updates. - Mentor junior QA specialists on banking domain knowledge and testing best practices. Required Skills and Experience: - Minimum 5 years of experience in manual QA testing, with at least 3 years focused specifically on banking or financial applications. - Demonstrated expertise in mobile application testing across multiple platforms, operating systems, and device configurations. - Comprehensive knowledge of software testing methodologies including black box, white box, regression, and exploratory testing approaches. - Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices. - Hands-on experience with API testing and thorough understanding of RESTful and SOAP web services architecture. - Advanced skills utilizing Jira for defect tracking, reporting, and test management, plus Confluence for documentation. - Proven experience collaborating effectively with distributed teams across different time zones and cultural contexts. - Exceptional analytical skills with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. - Strong understanding of the banking domain including financial transactions, security requirements, and common software functionalities. - Experience with network debugging tools such as Charles Proxy 4.6+ or Fiddler for intercepting and analyzing HTTP/HTTPS traffic. Nice to Have: - Working knowledge of SQL for database verification and testing within banking environments. - Understanding of security testing principles particularly relevant to financial applications including OWASP testing methodologies. - Experience with performance testing concepts and familiarity with tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. - Basic automation skills using Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks to supplement manual testing efforts. - Knowledge of relevant banking regulations including PSD2, GDPR, or equivalent regional compliance requirements. - Experience testing mobile payment systems and conducting integration testing with third-party financial services. - ISTQB Advanced Level certification or equivalent professional credentials in quality assurance.
