Are you a seasoned DevOps professional with expertise in cloud infrastructure and containerized applications? We're currently seeking experienced DevOps Engineers to join our innovative team responsible for operating high-performance, Kubernetes-based data platforms on Amazon Web Services. In this pivotal role, you'll architect resilient solutions, optimize critical systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain sophisticated Kubernetes-based data platforms on Amazon AWS, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability within our distributed DevOps team architecture.
- Provide comprehensive technical consultation to functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of use cases, from conceptualization to deployment and maintenance.
- Execute 2nd Level Operations Support with particular emphasis on troubleshooting and maintaining complex Data Pipeline systems, with special focus on resolving failing DataHub Pipelines and implementing preventative measures.
- Implement advanced hardening techniques to substantially improve platform resilience, incorporating industry-leading security protocols and performance optimization strategies.
- Address support requests through our enterprise ticketing system during standard business hours (5/8 availability), prioritizing based on business impact and technical urgency.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization to enhance system performance while implementing cost-effective infrastructure management strategies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring solutions to ensure exceptional system reliability, visibility, and performance metrics.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience operating data-intensive applications in demanding production environments, with proven ability to maintain high availability systems.
- At least 3 years of substantial hands-on experience with cloud services provided by Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent Azure certifications considered advantageous).
- Extensive implementation experience with security and IAM best practices in microservice environments, including practical knowledge of Keycloak, JWT authentication, mutual TLS (mTLS), and enterprise-grade secret management solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting containerized, infrastructure-as-code pipelines in Kubernetes environments (particularly with Helm, ArgoCD, CloudFormation, and Terraform).
- Substantial experience operating and performance-tuning database clusters (particularly PostgreSQL 13+) and message broker systems (especially Apache Kafka 3.x), including high-availability configurations.
- Comprehensive understanding of Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, including configuration, maintenance, integration with version control systems, and pipeline optimization techniques.
- Proficiency with Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration principles, and cloud-native application architectures.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure automation scripting using Python, Bash, or Go for operational efficiency.
Nice to Have:
- Current cloud provider certifications (AWS Professional-level certifications or Azure equivalent).
- Experience with advanced infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Practical knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd for microservices communication.
- Demonstrated application of GitOps principles and tools within enterprise environments.
- Background in data engineering or specialized experience with data platform operations.
- Implementation experience with sophisticated cloud-native continuous deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with industry-specific compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements for data platforms.
