Senior DevOps Engineer - AWS/Kubernetes | Remote Position

Key Responsibilities - Architect and operate complex Kubernetes-based data platforms on Amazon AWS as an integral member of our specialized DevOps team. - Deliver comprehensive technical support to functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of use case implementation and deployment. - Provide sophisticated 2nd Level Operations Support, with particular emphasis on troubleshooting and maintenance of data pipelines, specifically focusing on resolving DataHub pipeline failures. - Implement rigorous security hardening measures and architectural enhancements to elevate platform resilience and reliability. - Spearhead technical incident management processes, including thorough root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures. - Execute precise deployment procedures for migrating use cases from development to production environments. - Conduct thorough proof-of-concept evaluations with commercial third-party software solutions to augment platform capabilities. Required Skills - Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience operating data-intensive applications in production environments. - At least 3 years of hands-on experience with cloud services provided by AWS and/or Azure (professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer are distinctly advantageous). - Extensive background implementing advanced security and IAM best practices within microservice architectures, including practical experience with Keycloak, JWT, mTLS, and sophisticated secret management solutions. - Demonstrated expertise establishing and troubleshooting containerized, infrastructure-as-code pipelines in Kubernetes environments, leveraging technologies such as Helm 3.x, ArgoCD 2.x, and CloudFormation. - Significant experience operating and fine-tuning database and message broker clusters, particularly PostgreSQL 14+ and Apache Kafka 3.x systems. - Thorough understanding of Jenkins CI/CD pipeline creation, maintenance, and performance optimization. - Excellent English communication proficiency (both verbal and written) for effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders across organizational boundaries. - Practical knowledge of modern monitoring stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack implementations. - Demonstrable experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi for cloud resource orchestration. - Strong proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or Go for sophisticated automation tasks. Nice to Have - Previous experience working within regulated financial or banking sector environments. - Comprehensive knowledge of data engineering principles and associated technologies. - Practical experience implementing GitOps workflows and methodologies for continuous deployment. - Familiarity with service mesh technologies including Istio or Linkerd for microservice management. - Prior experience designing and implementing high-availability systems with 99.99% uptime requirements. - Completion of respected cloud-native certification programs (CKA, CKAD, or equivalent credentials). - Thorough understanding of compliance requirements within highly regulated industries. - Experience implementing chaos engineering practices for rigorous system resilience testing. - Demonstrated background developing observability solutions for complex distributed systems.
