About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement sophisticated machine learning models to extract actionable insights from complex, multi-dimensional datasets.
- Lead end-to-end data science projects—from problem formulation and data collection to model deployment and results interpretation.
- Establish MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for ML models, ensuring reproducibility and maintainability across research projects.
- Architect scalable data processing workflows utilizing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) to handle large-scale research datasets efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of researchers, faculty, and students to translate research questions into data-driven solutions.
- Author technical documentation, research papers, and presentations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data science roles, with demonstrable project outcomes and impact.
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or relevant quantitative discipline.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python (3.9+) programming and data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow 2.x or PyTorch 2.0+).
- Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google Vertex AI) for model training and deployment.
- Hands-on expertise implementing MLOps practices, including model versioning, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
- Proven experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, or similar distributed computing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical results into actionable business insights through compelling data visualization (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or Tableau).
- Comprehensive knowledge of data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA) and ethical considerations in AI/ML research.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
