Senior Banking Systems Analyst | Remote Role | Microservice Architecture
As a Senior Systems Analyst, you'll serve as the critical bridge between business objectives and technical implementation within a sophisticated banking environment. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity, completeness, and consistency of solution-level requirements throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
- Participate actively in conceptualizing and elaborating sophisticated solution architectures for banking systems and financial service platforms.
- Conduct thorough analytics of integration requirements with related products, systems, and banking service contours using advanced methodologies.
- Document and analyse complex business processes and integration workflows using industry-standard BPMN 2.0 and UML 2.5+ diagrams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify implemented functionality and facilitate solution delivery to stakeholders and end users.
- Develop comprehensive technical specifications and functional requirements documentation aligned with business needs and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain meticulous knowledge management by documenting specifications in Confluence and tracking project progress in JIRA.
- Initiate and manage change requests for interconnected teams while ensuring compliance with banking-specific requirements and standards.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical specialists and business stakeholders to maintain alignment on project objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst on enterprise-scale banking or financial projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in graphical business process modelling using BPMN 2.0 or UML 2.5+ diagramming techniques.
- Established track record in writing and approving comprehensive documentation including business requirements, technical specifications, and functional specifications.
- Practical experience working with system integrations through SOAP and RESTful API architectures.
- Solid understanding of microservice architecture principles, patterns, and implementation strategies.
- Working knowledge of relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficiency with Atlassian suite including JIRA and Confluence for project management and documentation.
- At least 1 year of direct experience in the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong analytical thinking with meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway.
- Knowledge of containerization platforms including Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message brokers including Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of banking regulatory compliance frameworks (Basel III, PSD2, GDPR).
- Background in agile methodologies including Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Professional certifications in business analysis (IIBA, CBAP) or system architecture (TOGAF).
- Experience with data modelling techniques and enterprise data governance practices.
