Senior AWS Network Engineer for Trading Infrastructure | Remote

Are you an accomplished Network Engineer with expertise in cloud infrastructure? Our trading firm seeks a talented professional to architect, deploy, and secure our mission-critical network systems. You'll leverage your advanced knowledge of AWS, Terraform, and network security to ensure optimal performance of our sophisticated trading platforms across global markets. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement robust network architectures across AWS cloud environments and physical data centers utilizing LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewall technologies. - Configure and maintain high-availability network infrastructure with industry-standard uptime for time-sensitive trading applications. - Monitor network performance metrics through enterprise-class tools and ensure optimal network integrity across distributed systems. - Resolve complex infrastructure issues through service desk systems, including participation in 24/7 rotational support for critical trading platforms. - Develop and execute network automation solutions using infrastructure as code principles with Terraform and complementary DevOps tools. - Establish comprehensive security measures including access control systems, authentication protocols, and disaster recovery procedures. - Liaise with internal stakeholders and Customer Service to address network-related inquiries and troubleshoot issues promptly. - Create and maintain detailed technical documentation covering network configurations, security protocols, and recovery procedures. - Identify optimization opportunities to enhance network performance, capacity, and scalability across global infrastructure. - Implement cost-effective cloud networking solutions while maintaining required performance and security standards. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration and architecture within geographically distributed environments. - At least 1+ years of practical experience with AWS cloud networking, including VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Route 53 configuration. - Proficiency with Terraform (version 1.5+) or equivalent infrastructure as code tools for network provisioning and management. - Thorough understanding of communication protocols and dynamic routing technologies, including BGP implementation in multi-region environments. - Working knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu 22.04+, RHEL 9+) and comfort working in command-line interfaces. - Demonstrated experience in network hardening and implementing security best practices for financial systems. - Advanced skills in access control models, network segmentation, and defense-in-depth security architectures. - Expertise with network diagnostic and analysis tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and modern packet analyzers. - Experience managing service desk systems (Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow) and monitoring platforms (Zabbix, DynaTrace, Prometheus/Grafana). - Practical knowledge of CDN services (Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront), DNS management, SSL/TLS certificates, and domain administration. - Proven ability to work independently and solve complex networking challenges with minimal supervision. - Fluent English communication skills at B2 level (Upper-Intermediate) or higher for effective cross-team collaboration. Nice to Have: - Experience with FreeBSD 13+, Cisco networking equipment, or Checkpoint firewall implementations. - Advanced Linux administration skills including container networking with Docker and Kubernetes. - Practical knowledge of VoIP systems and SIP cloud providers such as Twilio or Amazon Connect. - In-depth understanding of network operating systems including JUNOS and Cisco IOS/IOS-XE. - Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise Wi-Fi networking solutions. - Proficiency in scripting languages for network automation (Bash, Python 3.10+, Perl). - Industry certifications including AWS Certified Advanced Networking, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent credentials. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related technical discipline.
