Linux Systems Engineer
A technology leader across mobile, fixed and cloud networks is looking for the experienced Linux Systems Engineer on remote or hybrid format (offices in Germany).
Required technical skills and knowledge
Operating System: Linux : Debain +- CentOS +- Rocky : Any one (Optional : Windows : Servers + Clients)
Virtualization : KVM (Optional : VmWare +- Ovirt)
Automation : Ansible (Optional : Puppet)
File Servers : Linux : Samba +- NFS (Optional: MoosFS)
Operational Knowledge : Linux, Linux: DHCP, Linux: DNS, Linux: Raid Controllers (Optional : Proxy Servers, Windows : WSUS, Windows : SCCM, Windows : Active Directory)
User Management : LDAP authentication (Optional : Windows AD)
CyberSecurity : Linux (Optional: Windows)
Applications (Optional) : Linux : TACACS, Linux : LibreNMS, Linux : NetFlow, Linux : CheckMK +- PRTG
Microsoft Office Products : Excel + Word (Optional : Visio +- Access)
Responsibilities
- Installation of Bare Metal HOST machines with Operating System delivered over PXE or Network locations or Physical medium
- Installation of Virtual machines on Bare Metal HOST machines
- Configuration of Network adapters/parameters on different VLANs
- Configuration of Network Shares on File Storages
- Configuration of Raid Controllers
- Debugging
- Addition/Deletion of Software Packages from/with repositories
- Automation with Ansible / Puppet
- Patch Management
- Operating System Upgrades or Updates
Other requirements:
- Min. 5 years hands-on experience
- Demonstrated ability to teach and instruct co-workers
- Strong communication skills, including both verbal and written English
- Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve issues quickly and completely
- Sharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detail
- Independent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environment
- Assertive in approach coupled with confidence in area of expertise coupled with excellent leadership skills.
