Infrastructure Solution Architect, Cloud Architect (optional relocation to Montenegro)
We are looking for an Infrastructure Solution Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team who will collaborate with the Information Technology and Business Departments and make the company growth optimal from the perspective of infrastructure in use.
The role requires an in-depth understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture principles, infrastructure optimization techniques, cost management strategies, and strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. As an Architect role, it also assumes longer-term (strategic) thinking and planning skills.
You will be
● Being a part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will work with Business-departments, IT Delivery & Operation teams to discover optimal solutions for various business problems. You should consider both functional and non-functional requirements: cost efficiency, time to market, and quality.
● Foster routine tasks automation, paying attention to computing resource consumption and infrastructure planning, optimal usage of paid SaaS.
● Develop documentation, including vision/roadmap, NFRs.
● Record decisions and share among the IT Department.
● Lead technical choices, including technology stack choice.
● Participate in development of technical standards.
● Offer and participate in the 3rd party software choice, participate in negotiations with vendors.
● Optimize the company software and hardware portfolio.
Delivery and Execution
● Develop and enforce infrastructure policies, standards, and best practices to improve the processes with the target of optimal infrastructure utilization, software reliability and performance, and teams to follow industry best practices.
● Guiding developers, SREs, infrastructure engineers, and others with FinOps principles and optimization policies.
● Support solution architecture at the infrastructure level.
● Implement tools and processes to improve monitoring (with anomaly detection) and forecasting of infrastructure expenses.
● Identify and address workload placement issues, including under/overutilization, suboptimal infrastructure type choice, misconfiguration, etc.
● Develop transparent reporting of infrastructure cost allocation to the Libertex organization structure.
● Use cloud economic principles to save costs (saving plans, reservations, commitment options, etc.).
● Build the infrastructure part of the Service Catalog.
● Keep an eye on the latest updates in AWS technologies (e.g., new EC2 instance families), cost rate economics (e.g., saving plans, regional changes, etc.)
● Ensure the “build versus buy” principle is always considered to support business needs optimally.
● Collaborate with solution and domain architects to understand their solutions and domain roadmaps, and develop infrastructure that aligns with industry best practices.
● Collaborate with SREs, infrastructure engineers, and developers to optimize the performance of systems and the efficiency of infrastructure.
● Collaborate with IT management to influence infrastructure alignment with business tactical and strategic goals.
Key skills
● Working experience of 2+ years as Cloud Architect or Infrastructure Solution Architect (fintech, retail);
● Practical experience with any public cloud (AWS would be an advantage) and K8s;
● Ability to determine system reliability and performance problems and discover, validate, and offer solutions;
● Clear communication skills & the ability to build strong business relationships; experience in negotiation at a high level;
● Good documentation writing skills (specification, requirements, instructions, roadmap);
● Languages: English – Essential.
Additionally:
● Understanding of general software development processes within the Agile framework (Scrum, SAFe);
● Practical experience in building and maintaining medium-big-sized (~ 1k+ components with several thousand deployments in multiple regions) distributed architecture for mission-critical tasks;
● Experience in budgeting, contract management, software asset management, and CMDB tools implementation on a company-wide level.
