● Upgraded and migrated an old Postgres9 10TB live production database from GCP to AWS RDS Postgres15 without downtime using PostgreSQL's native logical replication through a secure BGP VPN tunnel between the two clouds. ● Introduced the ArgoCD App for Apps GitOps release pattern to the team, enabling easier deployments and more streamlined application management for our microservice architecture. ● Set up Kubernetes Event-Driven Autoscaling (KEDA) in our clusters and enabled engineers to use custom metrics such as SQS queue lengths and message rates to scale their applications. This led to huge cuts in cloud costs. ● Collaborated with the team and auditors to provide requested evidence, patch security issues, and ensure company compliance during our PCI DSS, SOC 2, and Safeguarding audits. ● Contributed to several security and safeguarding initiatives—most notably migrating all AWS access to Okta via Terraform and managing all org GitHub and Okta groups in code. ● Locked down Kubernetes workloads to use IAM Role for Service Accounts, allowing all org access (both app and employee) to be managed via Terraform on a GitHub repo. ● Re-organized and modularized our Terraform codebases to enable reusable base modules shared across teams, simplifying cross-team collaboration and infrastructure management. ● Implemented external-secrets-operator in our Kubernetes clusters, allowing secure retrieval of secrets from AWS SSM Parameter Store and Secrets Manager. This standardized secret management, eliminated hardcoded credentials, and ensured adherence to least-privilege and auditability best practices.

I joined InnovateEDU for a short-term (6 mo) contract to help them cut down cloud costs for their clients, document their infrastructure in IAC with Terraform for easier adoption by clients, and set up reliable end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for their developers. ● While at InnovateEDU, I was mostly working with Terraform, GCP, Kubernetes, Bitbucket Pipelines, Helm, and Apache Airflow to mention but a few tools. The engagement successfully concluded after achieving a 40% reduction in GCP hosting costs and transitioning the entire infrastructure to 100% Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

● I worked part-time for Moved developing, deploying, and maintaining their backend application written in Python Flask and hosted on AWS Elastic Beanstalk. ● I took on Database Administrator responsibilities for their RDS PostgreSQL database, optimizing complex SQL queries, implementing indexing strategies, and enhancing overall database performance and reliability. ● Pioneered and championed the creation of a new branch of the application—built with a Golang(Gin) backend and React frontend—dedicated to providing admin control to clients.
