Building and managing the Inbound Marketing department
I have been consulting one of the biggest Financial services providers in South Africa for 2.5 years. My main objective was to build and grow the Inbound Marketing department within the company. My role consisted of but was not limited to: creating the department’s structure; hiring; developing processes, tech infrastructure, reporting systems, and all other operational setups, that are essential to efficiently run the department. I was responsible for the strategic part as well as the daily management of the team. Another strategic goal was to reach break-even, which has also been successfully achieved.
Developing and selling Social Media Marketing startup
The Social Media Marketing platform Gingerfan.com was one of the first platforms of its kind in Europe. We have built a tool for Marketers to easily create promotions on Facebook. Through this platform, businesses got the opportunity to measure their activities on Social media and gain valuable insights. Gingerfan.com provided various mechanisms that enabled clients to reach different goals whether it was growing traffic, building client databases, awarding loyal customers, or increasing Brand awareness. The platform has been acquired by an Advertising agency.
Business development in South Africa for European Investor
My role: • Investigating opportunities for launching startups in South Africa • Financial assessments of potential investment projects • Conducting negotiations with potential investors/partners • Building networks and maintaining relationships • Creating and executing legal and financial companies structures • Leading recruitment processes for top management positions • Acting as a link between holding and startups.
