Worked as part of the Annual Works Plan (AWP) civil delivery management team in Southern regions. He was also involved in the ARMCO Structures replacement project which forms a part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade (GLU) in the RRR (Regional Rail Revival) program, which involves a range of track and civil works for replacement of existing Armco pipes to box culverts and lining of existing pipes from no-lining to full-lining with shotcrete at various locations along Pakenham to Bairnsdale corridor.
Key responsibilities included:
● Provide overall project management services on rail infrastructure civil projects.
● Developing the project scope and technical requirements and the project costs to deliver the project activities.
● Representing V/Line and providing input into safety in design workshops, risk assessments, technical working groups from infrastructure maintainability, compliance to standards, operational impacts, risks mitigation and reliability point of view.
● Investigating, identifying and implementing appropriate engineering solutions.
● Reviewing design submissions, managing design review process within V/Line to comply with the requirements of V/Line design management procedure and other standards.
● Consulting and interfacing with the wider V/Line business including V/Line asset management, engineering, safety, environmental, finance and operations.
● Managing tendering processes and conducting bids evaluation as V/Line representative.
● Assist in the development and maintenance of internal procedures ensuring reviews of third-party applications handled expeditiously, to ensure V/Line’s safety, environmental, operational requirements are adhered to by third-parties.
● Reviewing rail access applications for undertaking works on V/Line’s network.
● Plan and manage works to be carried out in rail occupations.
● Plan and manage track certification and handback of rail infrastructure into operations on completion of rail occupations.
