Alexander Urbanovich

Specialization: CTO
I am an enthusiastic developer, at the moment I manage a technical team within a company that creates complex integrated products. My experience includes backend development, new products prototyping and high load web development, product/project management as well. - Programming languages I’ve worked last years with: Typescript, Python, Perl. I had a chance to work with C/C++ (microcontrollers), Lua, Java. - Since 2020, I have been passionate about project and product management, studying lean startup methodology and the Agile’s best practices to understand how successful products are created. - I am also interested in mathematics and technology and enjoy solving algorithmic problems. I mentor people who are not familiar with technologies to understand the solutions, help to select a better ones. - I believe that not individuals drive business, but processes and agreements. - In a few years, I hope to enter the field of computer science education. I am currently studying the digital design and computer’s architecture, as well as expanding my knowledge of the theory of compilers and operating systems. Outside of work, I have several hobbies including microelectronics, where I invent, design, and assemble various hardware devices, it’s better to call it IoT. Since 2008, I have also been an enthusiastic artisan baker, translating articles and teaching master classes. I grow rare varieties of chili peppers and automate my home garden’s lighting, irrigation, and fertilizing. I’m a father of a lovely son.

Typescript is everywhere
For 10 years I have been the founder and technical leader of an online-travel project. During this time we have grown from a small Russian startup to an international company in the European and American markets. I started as a backend programmer, understanding how the business works, went through the stages of Frontend-, Backend-developer, DevOps engineer, analyst, project and product manager. Now I manage a stellar team of developers, provide technical expertise for products. I organize processes not only in my department, but in other aspects of the company as well. One of the main things we do is integration of different services. I myself spent years integrating dozens of data providers from Google to BookingCom. We developed a public GraphQL API for our main product. I'm responsible for communications with our partners. I do a lot of communication with teams from different countries, write technical documentation, do analysis and development of API as a standalone product. During the pandemic, when tourism was broken, I immersed myself in product management theory to see, through the eyes of a developer, how to do successful projects the right way. This knowledge helped me restructure internal company processes and build effective team and backlog management.
