A system administrator, or sysadmin, is a person who is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers. The job title may refer to software developers specializing in operating system development, database administration, or network management. System administrators may also be referred to as IT specialists or simply "IT."
