A desktop application developer is responsible for the creation, testing and maintenance of software applications that are designed to be used on a desktop or laptop computer. These applications may be installed locally on the machine, or accessed through a web browser. The developer will work with a team of other engineers to create comprehensive solutions for end users. In addition to coding and debugging software, the desktop application developer may also be involved in creating user interfaces, developing installers and providing technical support to customers.
