A SAP ABAP developer is responsible for developing, testing and deploying custom business applications based on the SAP ABAP platform. As a part of the development team, they collaborate closely with functional consultants, business analysts and other developers to understand business requirements and create technical designs. They also work with SAP support teams to resolve technical issues. In addition to development work, SAP ABAP developers also provide support and maintenance for existing custom applications.
