A Defect Reporting developer identifies and documents software defects observed during the testing process. They perform thorough investigations to understand the root cause of the problem, documenting all relevant details such as the steps to reproduce the error, the expected and actual results, the environment and conditions under which the defect occurred, and any relevant screenshots or error logs. They then report these defects to the development team for rectification. They may also liaise between the testing and development teams, assist in prioritizing defects, and retest the software once the defects have been fixed.
